Seamer
This five turbine Seamer wind farm will lie across the administrative boundaries of Hambleton and Stockton-on-Tees. The site is situated on working arable farm land between the villages of Seamer and Hilton.
Planning approval for the full scheme was received in June 2010. It is anticipated that construction will commence Summer 2011 with the turbines erected and operational by Summer 2012. The wind farm is expected to have the capacity to generate enough electricity to meet the annual needs of 6,400 households in the region.
We are currently working with members of the local communities to set up the ‘Seamer Community Fund’. This will fund community-based projects with particular focus on education and the environment. Broadview Energy will contribute £20,500 per year to the fund for the operational lifetime of the wind farm. If you have any suggestions for this fund then please contact us.
